If outdoor
lighting is used it is typically controlled by photo
sensor or a combination of photo sensor and time clock.
The deciding factor is he use of the parking area and
the relationship of the parking and the building
security lighting.
For more
information see the application notes for types of
outdoor lighting.
Outdoor
Operation
Photo-sensor only
Starting in
the morning, as ambient lighting increases, the
controller will turn off the lights after a preset time
delay before operation. This prevents on/off operation
due to clouds or other temporary factors. As ambient
light decreases to the controller’s on set-point, lights
will go on after a preset time delay before operation.
Photo-sensor and time clock
The time
clock enables load control by the photo-sensor, so that
for the lights to come on, both the photo-sensor and the
time clock must call for an energized state.
Starting in
the morning with the time clock in its energized state,
as ambient lighting increases, the controller will turn
off the lights after a preset time delay before
operation. This prevents on/off operation due to clouds
or other temporary factors.
As ambient
light decreases to the controller’s on set-point and the
time clock is in the energized state, lights will go on
after a preset time delay before operation. If during
the ambient dark hours, the time clock calls for a
de-energized state, the lights will go off.
